Welcome to Countryways!
Countryways Nursery is based on a family farm, we are a small Nursery with a relaxed and natural atmosphere where children learn the basics of real life!
We have 3 main rooms – Little Class – Inbetweenies – Transition. Supported by Hannah our SENCO, Early Years Educator and Designated Safeguarding Lead, Amy our Under Two’s Lead and Early Years Educator, Jodi our Speech and Language Co-Ordinator and Dietary Nutritionist and Lynne our Nursery Manager/Proprietor, Chef and Early Years Educator.
We are proud of our Continued Professional Development where we attend weekly valued Training opportunities to broaden our knowledge and keep ourselves up to date with latest guidelines and developmental awareness. We are fully trained in First Aid and attend an annual refresher course. We continue to strive towards excellence and welcome training and activities where we can broaden our curriculum and expertise.
Our Animals
We not only have people as part of the ‘Countryways’ family but also our animals! We have a
host of animals loved and cared for including chickens, geese, ducks, sheep, goats, bees in
several of our beehives, and an array of different size ponies!
Caring for animals helps to develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills and animals have a
positive therapeutic effect on everyone! Helping with feeding the chickens, collecting eggs, or
grooming a little pony also helps to develop language skills and the conversations between
our little friends is wonderful!
The children learn in a positive way that animals need looking after and care, that their feed
requirements are sometimes specific and needs to be measured, that the Vet may need to visit on
occasions and that sometimes animals, like us, are a little poorly. By having animals in our
environment here at Countryways, they teach us to care and be respectful towards each other,
which is an important part of our lives.
